I have a experience of working with all types of problems and as a psychotherapist I have been trained to treat the person as opposed to the disorder as not all ‘depression’ is the same, people’s problems are unique to them.

I started my career as a probation officer where I had a specialist role working with violent and sexual offenders. My interest in cognitive behavioural therapy started when I used cognitive behavioural principles to assist clients in taking responsibility for their behaviour and to implement changes.

I then went on to establish and manage a domestic abuse service for Sheffield in which I helped to support women and men affected by domestic and sexual abuse. Having seen the impact trauma has on lives I wanted to do something to help give people their lives back. Cognitive behavioural therapy helps people to understand the impact problems have on their lives enables them to start to gain control of their lives.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends and family and I am a great lover of the outdoors.
