Claire Hogben is a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and is trained to work with adults, children, and young people using EMDR therapy. She tailors interventions to meet each individual’s developmental needs and personal goals. Her therapeutic approach is kind, compassionate, focused, trauma-informed, and rooted in evidence-based practice.
Claire brings both personal lived experience and over 25 years of professional experience working within public services and charities. Her background includes extensive therapeutic work within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), running mental health programmes in schools, working within the Youth Offending Service, substance misuse services, and supporting Looked After Children and their families. Her own experiences led her to pursue a path centred on care, kindness, and supporting those who are struggling.
She is known for being real, honest, and down to earth, with strong insight into the challenges people face and the impact these can have on mental health.
Claire has a special interest and extensive experience in working with OCD. She is particularly passionate about supporting people who have experienced trauma, using a range of treatments grounded in a compassion-focused approach. She is trained in treating a wide range of anxiety and low mood difficulties. Whether someone is seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, or building self-worth, Claire aims to instil hope, foster resilience, and help individuals reclaim a sense of purpose in their lives.
She currently offers therapy sessions online, allowing clients the flexibility to attend at a time that suits them without the need to travel and from a location of their choice. In her experience, online therapy does not negatively impact the therapeutic process and can sometimes enhance it by giving clients a greater sense of autonomy.
